House duties for married couples?

Anonymous:I'm 27 and just got engaged to my girlfriend of 4 years and I was just wondering what your incite on this would be: We plan on moving in together after our wedding and i'm just wondering how we handle house duties/chores. I currently work but my girlfriend does not...once were married will she have to be in charge of all the house duties, Cooking, Cleainin, etc ?


RealTalk Guru's Writes: well congratulations first of all...second of all don't you think you outta be focusing on the actually wedding prep first. Anyway to answer your question, for every couple it's different and that's something you need to discuss with your bride to be...although you do bring in the funds, you as the man should be considerate and not leave all the chores to your wife...maybe come up with some kind of equal arrangement where she cooks and cleans, and you do laundry and take out the garbage...you know? something along those lines that create an equal balance. Don't look at it as you making all the income therefore she has to do her part in the house on her own to compensate, the whole purpose of getting a house together is to start something fresh with one another and work at maintaining it (in other words coming together as one and Feng Shui-ing the shit out of your spot)
